Word Diecut Window Card

HI Everyone!!

Today I am sharing a couple of Birthday cards.

It’s a very simple design and technique and the possibilities are endless. Here is the card,

Word Diecut card-1

I used a white card base as well as a white card front. Use any combination of distress inks to get a uniform blend on the base card. Use masking tape if you like clean white border on your cards. I think it works for these cards as it forms a pretty border.

Have used Memento Ink Dandelion, Distress Oxide Inks Spiced Marmalade, Abandoned coral on the first card and Tumbled Glass, Broken China and Blueprint sketch on the second card. You can also use water colours, acrylic paints or any other medium or coloured paper strips to get similar result.

The front panel is very plain and simple. Cut is smaller than the coloured area of the base card to get a border. Use any die cut sentiment of your choice. Then adhere the front panel on the base card and use the die cut window to place the tiny die cut pieces in place. Use a strong adhesive to stick the pieces in place. Then embellish the card as per liking. Have used a border die cut on one card and transparent water droplets on the other card.

Hope you like it!!

You are Amazing card

Hi Everyone,

The card i made today uses a very simple but beautiful technique. I saw Jennifer Mcguire use it in one of the many amazing videos on Youtube. Its the embossing technique using dies.

Here is the card,

You Are Amazing card

First, i used a stitched oval die for cutting the center panel. Before running the cardstock through the die cutting machine, i applied versamark on the die itself. Then run it through the die cutting machine. This causes the ink to stick to the edge of the oval.  Embossed using gold embossing powder. Used the florals from Simply Floral stamp set by Mudra Craft Stamps, embossed it in gold and adhered it to the oval panel using foam tape. Stamped the You sentiment from the Thank You Stamp Ste by Mudra and the remaining sentiment from the Dainty Blooms-2 stamp set.

For the card base, masked the edges and applied distress ink and stamped the floral bud from the Simply Floral stamp set. Finally adhered the center panel to the card base.

Happy Birthday Card

Hi Everyone,

The card i have made today is a Happy Birthday Card. Have used a stencil from Mudra Craft Stamps and tried giving a three dimensional look to the card.

Here is the card,

Happy Birthday Card

Embossed the Mudra Stamps Mandala Stencil on a dark green card stock using versamark and gold embossing powder. Then used scalloped rectangle dies to cut the embossed image into several pieces. Then used yellow and green cardstock and cut it using the same rectangle dies and adhered the pieces to the back of the embossed pieces to give it a dimensional look. Here is how the card looks from an angle,

Birthday Card using Lawn Fawn – Hang in There Stamp Set

Hi Everyone,

Got whole lot of craft supplies (mainly stamps) and few from the latest CHA release. We have some really great craft supplies stores catering to the latest demands of crafters.

Today I have used the ‘Hang in There’ stamp set from Lawn Fawn to make a fun slider card (just wanted to make a slider card with the sloth). Its a small stamp set with a cute image and simple sentiments. Have not been able to make a video tutorial so have taken few photos of the process of making this card.

Here is the card, have merged two images (forgot to do that earlier :-P), one with the slider in place and other with the slider pulled up to show the stamped image and birthday sentiment.

Lawn Fawn-1

So this is how I made it,

Cut standard size card stock in 2 pieces of 81/2 x 4 3/4. one for the base/inside of the card and the other for the top panel.

Step: 2

Cut 3 pieces of foam of 1/2 inch width, 2 for the slider element to fit and 1 for the base as as stopper for the slider. The remaining 2 sides (left and top) can be closed later with foam. The top section of the slider is open for the slider to move.

Also cut a strip of thick card stock of appropriate width to make the slider.

Step 3:

The two foam columns for the slider are glued making sure that there is a little space so that the slider does not get stuck and moves freely. After adhering the foam columns, adhered foam to the base, the left side and top of the card. While gluing the left piece make sure that the focal image fits in the space.

Step 4:

Now I stamped the image on a watercolour paper, coloured it using watercolour pencils and cut it. Also, stamped the happy birthday sentiment and embossed it. Glued this behind the focal image.

Then cut a small strip of 1 1/2 inches width and attached the whole focal image at one end on the left side. Then attached the other side of this small strip to the slider. The slider should move freely.

Once the slider element is all done, used Distress ink to add the sky and cut some balloons and glued it directly on the base of the card.

Step 5:

For the top panel, I cut a circle/oval of appropriate diameter so that when the slider is pulled up the image is visible through the window. This required a little adjustment and trimming of the foam columns. Added a piece of transparency on the inside to close the window. Finally used distress ink to add colour to the panel and stamped the small leaves to create a pattern paper look. Cut a small piece of card stock in banner shape and stamped Hello sentiment in black ink and adhered using double sided foam tape.

Finally, placed the slider element in the channel created on the base card and glued the top  panel using a strong double sided adhesive to complete the card. Here is the final card, one with the slider element in its original position and other with the slider element pulled up to display the focal image (the cute sloth holding the happy birthday placard).
